Last week's X06 hosted a lot of premieres, and given Halo's unyielding grip in the Xbox 360 sales charts, we can say everyone was thrilled about the Halo Wars unveiling. The first and exclusive Xbox 360 real time strategy title is placed within the Halo universe will provide the franchise fans with a new tactical perspective of the battlefield. Additional information can be gathered from Ensemble Studios founder Bruce Shelley latest blog post, as he talks about the actual state of the game and its bright perspectives.

Head of the IT Department, Roy Rabey pointed out that Ensemble must be indeed big, to have Peter Jackson as the opening act for the Halo Wars announcement. "Halo Wars has been proceeding for months under the code name Phoenix. We have been working with the Bungie team closely to be sure that the vision for Halo Wars syncs up with their games and story" Shelley wrote. He also commented that "This game has a long way to go before being published and we won't be getting into too many specifics about it for a while. But it is being played every day now and we are feeling very good about where it is and where it is going."

The Halo Wars development team is constantly growing, with much of the Bungie staff originally working on halo joining their ranks. Producer Chis Rippy and Lead Programmer Angelo Laudon are leading the hostilities, both having over 12 years of experience with Ensemble Studios. The team is further complemented by former Bioware veteran Art Lead Mather Goldman, and Lead Designer Graeme Devine, another gaming industry regular for the past 20 years.
