Many of you out there might be wondering who Thandie Newton is or maybe having a tough time placing her. Let's clear the confusion: Thandie is a 41-year-old English actress known for her roles in “Crash,” “Mission Impossible 2” and “Rocknrolla.”

Earlier this week, Thandie and her husband, movie writer, director and producer Ol Parker, welcomed their third child into the family, baby boy Booker Jombe Parker, the couple's first after two previous daughters.

The happy new mother took to Twitter to announce the happy news writing, “Our baby boy is finally here! Booker Jombe Parker. Born joyously at home yesterday.”

Newton made a big deal of her home pregnancy, by advising women to follow her example and get independent midwives and home births, when she thanked her midwife, “My [third] home birth with brilliant independent midwife Caroline Flint —  and Carole Goddard at Phoenix Midwives. Keep independent midwifery alive!”

The couple made up of the actress and the movie director have been married since 1998, during which time they gave birth to two other girls, Ripley, who is now 13 and Nico, who is now 9. Both of the daughters were said to be present at their brother's birth and their mother's labor.

The news is confirmed by a representative of the actress in a conversation with People. “Thandie and the baby are healthy and the family is thrilled,” the representative happily remarks, before mentioning that the baby's birth was uneventful, and little Booker weighed in at 8 pound (3.6 kg).

Newton and Parker first announced their pregnancy back in September last year.

Opening up about the joyous moment, the proud father also took to Twitter to share the news, but added his own funny twist to the announcement, “We had a baby, that's a beautiful thing. He's called Booker, and while he doesn't do much yet, I suspect him to be awesome.”

On a previous occasion, Thandie spoke out about the issue she had with matching her pregnancy with the filming for “Rogue,” an action packed police drama in which she plays the undercover cop Grace Travis.

“Basically, I had two options; to withdraw from the show which would have meant the show collapsing, or to commit regardless,” the actress said, adding, “'My agent also reassured me that both Claire Danes and Anna Paquin worked well into their first pregnancies. So - it was all going to work out just fine wasn't it?”

Now she's able to joke about the whole experience, “We're on episode nine, and are near enough to finishing for me to be able to chuckle at my naivety in thinking this was going to be anything other than mayhem, with a waddling lead actress at the centre.”
