Activision has offered gamers a sneak peek at their 2009 line up during an event held together with Massive Inc., one of the most important in game advertising providers.

The biggest title in the line up of the company will surely be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is slated to be released in the last trimester of 2009. Considering that Treyarch has just released Call of Duty: World at War, which focused on World War II again, and the Bond-based Quantum of Solace, it's safe to presume that Infinity Ward is developing the title, while the name of the upcoming game suggests that Activision is thinking of creating two sub-series for Call of Duty, one dealing with modern conflicts, handled by Infinity Ward, the other focusing on historic conflicts, developed by Treyarch.

Activision also revealed Guitar Hero 5 (the title is subject to change), developed by Neversoft. The game will probably arrive late in 2009; no further details were provided. It's safe to presume that Neversoft and Activision will have to deliver something special in order to prevent what some analysts are already calling the ‘music game fatigue’.

There's also a Tony Hawk skateboarding game which will arrive in 2009. Activision stated that “You're not going to be playing this game with a controller in your hands,” which hints at a peripheral being used to model the skateboarding mechanic, much like Wii Fit uses the Balance Board.

The James Bond license will continue to be used by Activsion and Bizarre Creations, which has handled development for Project Gothan Racing, and is reportedly working on a racing game focusing on the exploits of the British spy. They are also making another game, an original intellectual property that Activision described as “Mario Kart meets Forza”.
