With peripheral

Activision has recently unveiled its financial results for the last quarter of the last fiscal year and during that event, a conference call with investors and analysts revealed more information about the plans that the publisher has for the future. And one of the best-known games getting a big reveal in the coming week seems to be Tony Hawk, which is set to be unveiled at the E3 trade show.

Mike Griffith, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Activision, has said that his company is set to offer all the details on the new game in short order, maybe even aiming to build up hype and release it during 2009.

One of the big rumors surrounding the new game in the skating franchise is that a peripheral might be bundled with the game, allowing the player to control his/her movements with his/her feet rather than his hands.

Tony Hawk himself, the image of the series, has all but confirmed that the new motion sensing controller exists and other sources have claimed to have seen it in action.

The big question is whether those who have enjoyed the previous Tony Hawk games are ready to play the probably inflated price at which the new title will re-sell. After all, fans of the Skate series from Electronic Arts are saying that the game manages to offer a very faithful representation of skating without the use of a peripheral.

Skate was so successful that Activision decided not to release a Tony Hawk game for one year in order to make sure that it created a competitive game.

Also at E3, we might be able to take a first look at a new racing franchise, called Blur, which is set to be developed by Bizarre Creations, the same studio that has made Project Gotham Racing.
