Just hours after word got out that Osama Bin Laden had been killed by a Navy SEAL team, Hollywood big honchos were already thinking about movies about the special ops force. Relativity Media managed to get a head started.

“Act of Valor” is a fictional story but was made with real-life Navy SEALs and equipment. It was already completed when the movie studio picked it up, and now it has a first trailer.

While it seems that it’s no different from other war movies we’ve seen, knowing that the men in it are actually part of the famed special ops force makes it all the more impressive.

The same goes for knowing that all we’ll be seeing on screen might actually happen in a hypothetical similar context, and that this is the way they’d act if what is presented for the camera were to take place.

Ultimately, the film will probably also aim to showcase the human side of conflict, which is emphasized in the trailer by the reiteration of the word “home” and the men’s desire to get back to their families.

Situated at the crossroads between documentary and Hollywood-made action flick, “Act of Valor” will be out in theaters on February 17, 2012.
