The integrated optical drive will enhance productivity and communication

Acer launched a whole bunch of products today, from tablets to new Chromebook models and Ultrabooks. Apart from announcing its Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook was now available in Europe, Middle East and Africa, the company also announced the new Aspire V5 Ultrabook.

The new V5-561P has a built-in optical drive and increased storage of up to 4.7GB. It should be mentioned that the M-DISC now features an improved technology that coats it with a special layer in order to protect the system from physical damage.

The V5 comes bundling a 15.6-inch HD LED-backlit display complete with Direct Bonding technology (increases effective contrast ratio) and is powered by Intel’s latest Haswell architecture coupled with 16GB of RAM and AMD Radeon R7and R5 graphics.

Last but not least, the Ultrabook takes advantage of the Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater surround sound effect technology and is also equipped with HDMI, VGA, SD card slot and USB 3.0.

Customers can grab this Windows 8 powered device for €599 / $817 a pop.
