Aspire S3 show up online, more will come in November

The majority of Ultrabooks, or at least those from Acer, won't show up until next month (November, 2011), but the company still managed to get one out sooner.

This Acer Aspire S3-951-2464G34iss, as Amazon calls it, is not actually the flagship product.

It is a bit too inexpensive and, consequently, underpowered, compared to all the others at any rate.

As such, it might be considered something of a test run, as well as a softener, since it actually shows that Ultrabooks can sell for more or less accessible sums even if Intel refuses to lower CPU prices.

The exact tag is of 799 Euro, which is about the same as $1,133, though exchange rates are seldom reflected in the US-European price distinction.

Ultrabooks of this caliber will, in principle, stay in the $800-$900-$1000 range in North America.

That said, the Acer Aspire S3 has an Intel Core i5-2467M processor, whose clock speed is of 1.6 GHz and which boasts the Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics.

This processor is backed up by 4 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory) and manages the data stored on a hard disk drive and a solid state drive.

The storage arrangement is actually fairly uncanny, with the HDD being a 320 GB model and the 20 GB mini SSD meant to boost PC performance by holding the data most often utilized.

Other specifications of note are a 2-in-1 card reader, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, a pair of USB 2.0 connectors, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and a 3,280 mAh battery.

Furthermore, the machine is loaded with the Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium operating system and measures 13.3 inches (the display is a Full HD panel, 1,366 x 768 pixels resolution).

Finally, like all the other upcoming Aspire S3 ultrabooks, this one has a warranty of two years.
