Computer maker Acer has just announced the release of a new mobile phone running under Android, the Acer liquidmini, which follows a range of such devices the company brought to the market during the past months.

The new device sports a small, compact design, proving to be a stylish Android smartphone that runs under Google's Android 2.2 operating system version.

The specification list of the new mobile phone includes a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with multi-touch capabilities, as well as a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back. Moreover, the new device from Acer should arrive with DLNA certification, along with integrated Acer clear.fi media sharing.

“Small, compact and extremely stylish, liquidmini is available in a wide range of colors – jet silver, royal blue, piano black, lime green and light pink - to let users choose the one that fits their personality best,” the company announced.

“The subtle curves of liquidmini meet the beautiful chrome edges, wrapped in a soft touch casing shaped to fit your hand perfectly. You will be amazed to discover so many features into this charming Android smartphone.”

On top of the aforementioned Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, those who would purchase the new device should enjoy the classy Acer UI, which can deliver the necessary speed and productivity features that users want.

Moreover, the new mobile phone would provide them with access to various mobile services from Google's including Gmail, Google Maps, Google Navigation and Google Talk, or YouTube.

On top of that, the device offer support for a wide range of applications, games and widgets available for download via the Android Market.

DocumentsToGo and RoadSync were also included into the mix, so that users can easily view and edit popular office files (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and PDF). Acer liquidmini packs support for Microsoft Exchange too.

Acer did not offer specific info on the price tag the new device is set to become available for purchase with on the market, but said that it plans on shipping it to the UK starting with April 11th.
