Two of the world's leading manufacturers of computer systems, Acer and Lenovo, are reportedly gearing up for the release of some new all-in-one PCs, as part of their 2009 product lineups. While Lenovo is said to be planning at least three new all-in-one PCs for 2009, Acer is only expected to announce a new 18.5-inch model, which will be manufactured by Wistron. The move could also help the two vendors revitalize their desktop PC sales, which have been surpassed by the increasingly popular laptop sales.

According to a recent news-article on Digitimes, citing industry sources, both Acer and Lenovo will release some new AIOs in the near future. Lenovo's lineup includes the 20-inch C300 model designed for the entry-level user and slated for release in May this year, which will be accompanied by a quad-core CPU-based B500 model to become available sometime in August, and the ultra-thin A300, due in October. The specific details regarding the technical details of these systems aren't yet available.

Acer will join Lenovo in the market for all-in-one PCs, with the release of its own 18.5-inch model, slated to have an official launch in the near future. Despite no details on the system's technical sheet, Digitimes reports that the 18.5-inch model will be manufactured by Wistron. However, the lack of details on this all-in-one PC could indicate that we are actually talking about the eMachines EZ1600, announced earlier this month.

Companies such as HP and Dell will likely have to rethink their strategy for the all-in-one PC market, especially since their current products address the requirements of the high-end market. These new systems from Lenovo, Acer and ASUS will take the market by storm, providing users with an all-in-one computing experience at a low price tag.
