Leaks seem to arrive in groups around this time of the year, with data on companies' upcoming products making it to the Internet in various forms, be they photos, slides or just product listings, as is the case with the Acer Aspire 532 Netbook. Only spotted among Acer's drive pages and listed by some retailers, this netbook that Acer is supposedly developing will be a 10.1-inch model based on the Intel Pineview N450 processor.

The aforementioned retailers also published the product’s overall specifications, including a suggested starting price. The aforementioned Pineview processor will run at the frequency of 1.66GHz and will be able to work with 1GB of Random Access Memory (RAM). The total storage space of the device will be provided by a hard drive of either 160GB or 250GB capacity and the 10.1-inch screen will be capable of high resolutions of 1280 x 720 pixels. Graphics capabilities will be provided by the GMA 3150.

Concerning I/O options and other features, the netbook is built with three USB ports, a five-in-one card reader and a 0.3-megapixel webcam. The product will be running Windows 7 Starter Edition, which is specifically aimed at entry-level systems, and will make sure that the netbook isn't subject to excessive workloads.

The OS does this by limiting the number of concurrent applications to three (excluding background services and system tools) and by not featuring certain Windows 7 features such as DVD playback and Windows Media Center.

The Acer Aspire 532 will be powered by a three-cell battery and will come in three versions differentiated by their color. The netbook will be released in models colored red, black, blue and silver, and the price currently listed is €299. Compared to other netbooks and considering the listed specs, this might actually turn out as a very popular product if said price doesn't go up.
