Acer has recently launched the Iconia W4 8-inch tablet with Windows 8 onto several markets across the world. Also, the company has pushed out a bunch of Android offerings too, the Iconia B1 and A1 slates.

Now it appears that Taiwanese company has a new series of tablets up its sleeve, and this time it’s seemingly targeted at developing markets, like China. I say seemingly because so far we have no information whether Acer plans to launch the new Tab 7 somewhere else too.

With these new models, Acer does not repeat the design of the Acer Iconia Android tablets, but brings out a new polycarbonate frame with double finish to hide the speakers located at the bottom.

The Acer Tab 7 comes sporting a 7-inch LCD capacitive multi-touch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is weighs only 289 g / 0.63 lbs and is 9.9 mm / 0.38 inches thick. The power house of the slate is a Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.5GHz (dual-core GPU integrated) coupled with 1GB of RAM and backed up by 8GB of internal storage.

The Tab 7 has two cameras (3MP on the back and 2MP in front), 802.11 n Wi-Fi, microSD, microHMDI and micro USB, 3000 mAh battery and runs Android 4.2 out of the box.

The slate is already available for purchase in China on JD for the meager price of $100 / €72.
