Acer, one of the world's leading vendors of portable computer systems and one of the pioneers of the netbook market, has recently updated its product lineup with the introduction of the new Aspire Timeline 1810T, an ultraportable 11.6-inch laptop that has adopted Intel's CULV platform inside the chassis of the Aspire One 751. The official announcement is yet to be made, but the system has already made an appearance on the company's website, which is a good indication that it will soon become available in stores.

According to the technical specifications of the new Timeline 1810T, users will be provided with a system that is built on Intel's GS45 Express chipset, featuring the integrated GMA 4500MHD graphics chip and support for Intel's Core 2 Solo processors with 3MB of L2 cache. The system is designed to support dual-channel DDR2 memory with up to 4GB capacity and one SATA hard disc drive. There's also a 5-in-1 media card reader, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g or a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR connectivity, an integrated Acer Crystal Eye webcam and microphone for conference applications.

On the connectivity side, there are three USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI connector, VGA port, headphones out and mic-in, Ethernet RJ-45 jack and a DC-in jack for the AC adapter. These are pretty much the same options that you'd expect from a small-sized netbook or one of those new ultraportable laptops built on Intel's CULV platform. Additional features include the Kensington lock and the HD 1366 x 768 pixel resolution for the 11.6-inch display.

The new laptop will be available in a variety of configurations, with users being able to choose from three colors, namely Diamond black, Sapphire blue and Ruby red. As far as pricing goes, the new system should be available for about €499 ($711) and €599 ($853) respectively. We still have to wait for details on US availability.
