After much anticipation and a series of leaked details that have surfaced on the Internet, Acer has officially introduced the new Aspire One D250 netbook. Boasting a new, slimline design, Acer's new netbook is just 1-inch thin and weighs in at just 1.11kg, enabling a higher level of portability, even for the netbook segment. As it was to be expected, available configurations will include the Atom N270 and the N280 processors, allowing users to choose which configuration best fits their performance requirements.

According to the company, the new Aspire One D250 model will be available in a variety of colors, including ruby red, sapphire blue, seashell white or diamond black, providing users with a few personalization options. In addition, Acer claims that the new netbook is capable of delivering up to 7.5 hours of battery life, a feature that will likely land the Aspire One D250 among the top netbooks on the market.

Specification-wise, the Aspire One D250 can be equipped with either the 1.6GHz N270 or the 1.68GHz N280 processors, letting users choose the level of performance they require from their slimline netbook. The system can support up to 2GB of DDR2 memory and is equipped with a 2.5-inch 160GB SATA hard drive. The 10.1-inch LED-backlit WSVGA display can deliver a resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels, and is powered by Intel's integrated graphics solution.

Additionally, the D250 can be featured with a multi-in-1 card reader, two built-in stereo speakers, an integrated Acer Crystal Eye 0.3MP webcam, wireless 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, and even some of those increasingly necessary 3G connectivity options, including HSDPA for high-speed Internet connection. The array of ports includes three USB 2.0, VGA output, audio in/out and RJ-45 Ethernet.

Depending on what battery pack you will choose, the Aspire One D250 can weigh as much as 1.27kg, which is still lightweight. Unfortunately, Acer is yet to detail the system's pricing and availability, but we will try to keep you up to speed as soon as more info becomes available.
