The upcoming IFA expo in Berlin will be the site where IT companies from around the world will show off their latest inventions, and it seems that one of Acer's products, the AMD-powered Revo RL100 desktop, has broken cover even before the show started, eager to turn heads with its very slim form factor.

The RL100 is the latest product to bear the Revo brand but definitely stands out from the crowd, not necessarily thanks to its configuration, but because of its thinness.

One may even go so far as to label this desktop as a nettop, so compact it is, but there is actually a certain feature that makes it unique.

The overall hardware build is not altogether shocking, being fairly generic as far as nettops go.

At the heart of the configuration lies an Athlon II K325 CPU (central processing unit) from Advanced Micro Devices, whose frequency is of 1.3GHz.

The computer also features 2GB of RAM and a hard disk drive with a storage capacity of 160GB, plus a DVD writer with a speed of 8X.

The electronic also boasts the necessary connectivity and I/O options, namely LAN, WiFi, a HDMI output and a multi-card reader.

These hardware details were revealed by a report made by Unwire.hk, a report also contains another significant piece of information.

Apparently, the AMD-based nettop actually has a slide-out wireless remote control which has two modes of operation, that of a keyboard or a large trackpad.

The remote control also brings the benefit of multi-touch support and will definitely give some freedom of movement to whoever decides to acquire the PC.

The device will be on displays, as already mentioned, at Acer's IFA exhibition, but it has supposedly already been priced in Hong Kong, at $515 to be exact. As such, it shouldn't be long until its multimedia skills are made clear.
