Should already be shipping with huge contrast ratio and slim profile

Acer's official website, as well as online stores, have been updated with six new monitors that have slimness, TN panels and huge dynamic contrast ratios as primary selling points.

Instead of releasing one or two new monitors, Acer went ahead and launched a set of six, all of which stick to the more or less common size range for consumers.

What this means is that 19 inches in diagonal is the smallest, while the largest is of 24 inches.

Likewise, the native resolutions go up with every extra inch, more or less, so that the targeted consumer base can be as wide as possible.

S190WL, S200HL, S220HQL, S230HL, S240HL and S240HLbid HDMI are the names that the newcomers bear.

In that order, they measure 19 inches, 20 inches, 21.5 inches, 23 inches and 24 inches (this last size goes for both of the last two), respectively.

The 19-inch S190WL has a native resolution of 1,440 x 900 pixels, which is already more than HD demands (1,366 x 768 pixels).

The 20-inch S200HL features a native resolution of 1,600 x 900 pixels, while the rest all support full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels).

All of them have a response time of 5ms, a typical brightness of 250 cd/m2 and a dynamic contrast ratio of 100,000,000:1.

All of this is available in a super-thin package of just 13 mm (0.51 inches), and made possible, partially at least, by the LED backlighting.

Of course, LED also has the advantage of being energy efficient, so the monitors get some green points as well.

The S0 Series, as the line is called, should already be up for order, at prices ranging between 109 Euro and 189 Euro ($150.04 and $260.17). All boast D-Sub and DVI connectivity (only the aptly named S240HLbid HDMI has HDMI).
