Acer, like all of its rivals, makes a point of periodically updating its product lineup, and while it focuses on PCs, especially laptops, it definitely makes a point of keeping an eye on the display market and releasing a new monitor on a regular basis, such as the G5 series of displays that has just made its appearance on the European market.

The Taiwanese company may have focused on the mobile PC front lately, revealing such things as dual-boot netbooks, but also items like the T231H multi-touch monitor, so this set of LCDs does not really come as a surprise.

Acer unveiled five new displays that go by the names of G195HQ, G205H, G225HQ, G235H and G245H and have screen sizes of 19 inches, 20 inches, 22 inches, 23 inches and 24 inches, respectively.

In tune with their specifications, the newcomers are aimed at gamers and multimedia enthusiasts, though they don't all feature support for Full HD media.

The 19-inch G195HQ, as the smallest and least presumptuous of the lot, has a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels, whereas the G205H can reach 1,600 x 900 pixels and all the others the Full HD, 1,920 x 1080 pixels.

The displays have a contrast ratio of up to 80,000:1 and a response time of 5ms, except for the G245H, which has a response time of 2ms.

What's more, the monitors come with DVI connectivity and, on some models, even HDMI 1.3, which makes them compatible with a wide range of graphics cards.

As for the overall design, all devices have a piano black finish and an X-shaped stand with tilt adjustment.

The newcomers are already selling in European countries and their prices are of 119 Euro for the G195HQ, 139 Euro for the G205H, 169 Euro for G225HQ, 199 Euro for the G235H and, finally, 219 Euro for G245H.
