Though best known for its personal computer lines, especially mobile ones, Acer has taken a break from unleashing new laptops one after another in order to supply the European market with the Revo View, its media player capable of 1,080p video playback.

The Revo View was unveiled at this year's IFA show and has now become an official presence in Europe.

Since media players are, more or less, equal to each other when it comes to actual performance, their makers have to spend time and effort into the rest of their feature sets in order to boost their appeal.

As such, Acer put quite a bit of emphasis on the aesthetic side of its device, seeking to make sure it is as fashionable as it can get, more or less.

Basically, the product measures 220 x 205 x 48 mm and has a glossy coating, plus an interesting black/blue color theme.

In terms of specifications, is has support for Dobly Digital and DTS, as well as for video playback in quality of up to Full HD.

In other words, the electronic will have absolutely no problems when it comes to playing any sort of video files, even those in resolutions of 1,080p.

Other specifications include a Composite and Component ports, two USB 2.0 connectors, 10/100 LAN, a multi-card reader and an optional WiFi.

What's more, the newcomer even has the possibility of adding a 3.5-inch DATA hard disk drive, for internal storage.

Finally, Acer threw in the obligatory HDMI output, so that videos may be easily streamed to a variety of HDTVs and monitors.

The company is now reportedly selling the Revo View in Europe, where its starting price is of 149 Euro.

This base model boasts a hard disk drive of 320 GB, but versions with 1TB and 2 TB are also available, at 175 Euro and 250 Euro, respectively.
