As most end-users probably know by now, 3D has been on a rapid rise and companies have been going out of their way coming up with 3D display solutions both powerful and efficient. One such company is Acer, which has just introduced a 3D panel aimed for use with the NVIDIA 3D Vision technology. The new monitor, dubbed the Acer GD235HZ, measures 23.6 inches and is capable of Full-HD 3D playback, thanks to its maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, 60Hz for each eye.

The Acer 3D display is aimed at enabling end-users to enjoy whatever 3D content they acquire, be it Blu-ray movies, 3D games or other multimedia. The 3D experience will be full thanks to the high-definition 1920 x 1080 resolution and the monitor's 2ms response time will even further boost the viewing quality. The used aspect ratio is the cinema-class 16:9 and the high brightness of 300cs/m2 will ensure a high image clarity.

The GD235HZ has two special features that make it appealing, both performance- and power-wise. One is the Acer Adaptive Contrast Management (ACM), an advanced technology that optimizes the contrast by allowing users to adjust images frame by frame, enhancing detail and gradation. This feature also enables the use of less power, with no compromise to the viewing experience.

The second special element of this display is the eColor Management on-screen interface. Through it, consumers can manage the brightness, saturation and contrast, even providing the possibility to switch between viewing scenarios via the Empowering Key. Purchasers of the monitor will also be able to create their own such viewing scenario, compensating for environment and application constraints.

Acer optimized its GD235HZ for use in conjunction with the NVIDIA 3D Vision technology, which is made up of a wireless USB transmitter, high-tech wireless active stutter glasses and a software that can actually transform normal PC game content into 3D. The Acer display, paired with this solution, will be able to render in 3D any content, such as 3D videos, 3D photos and even upcoming Blu-Ray movies.

The Acer GD235HZ 3D display is priced at $399.99 and will become available in the United States in the early parts of this months. E-tailers list the NVIDIA 3D Vision kit at an MSRP of $199.
