The slate has been rumored to be in the pipe-line earlier this month

Not so long ago, the specifications of the upcoming Acer Iconia B1-730 tablet have been leaked into the wild, showing us a 7-inch slate powered by an Intel Atom Bay Trail dual-core processor.

But we still had no clue what the upcoming slate will look like. Anyway, the guys over at MobileGeeks have managed to get their hands on a few pictures showing the device. They also added that the slate would sell on the European market under the Acer One 7 B1-730 name.

There’s no configuration for now, but the slate will probably be launched next week in New York at Acer’s even set for April 29.

Looking at the photographs, we can see it comes with a slightly different look than what we’re accustomed with most tablet models out there.

For starters, the leaked press images suggest the upcoming B1-730 HD tablet will arrive with a textured back panel, while the company’s logo will be living on the bottom of the front screen.

The images also show the B1-730 HD tablet will arrive with on-screen buttons for the back, home and recent app functions.

Despite the added “HD” moniker, the new slate won’t arrive with a full HD resolution (1920 x 1200 pixels) but the lower 1280 x 800 mounted on a 7-inch display.

Apart from that, the slat is going to bundle a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor clocked at 1.6GHz fitted with PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU, 1GB of RAM and either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage.

Acer throws in a 5MP rear camera, but there will be no frontal addition. Life on the tablet is sustained by a decent 3700 mAh battery and although we don’t have any information about what version of Android we’re going to see onboard, judging by the latest rumors, we could assume it’s going to be Android 4.4 KitKat.

So you can compare, the Acer Iconia Tab B1-720 which is already available for purchase in North America, runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean.

The slate comes with a 7-inch OGS (One Glass Solution) display and embeds a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek MT8111 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage (expandable to 32GB via microSD card).

In Europe, the tablet has already been listed at some retailers with a price-tag revolving around €130-€140. According to the report, the new slate will start shipping out in mid-May on the continent. But on April 29, Acer will most likely reveal details about US availability too.
