It looks like a certain pair of tablets is not all that Acer has completed and sent out, as a certain, less than ordinary mobile PC has also received its official pricing, at least as far as the US and Canada are concerned.

Acer is among those companies which, before actually unleashing a product upon the IT market, offers some previews of it in the months prior.

The Iconia Tab A500 and W500 tablets are one of the most recent such products to finally receive their official prices, something that happened last week.

Now, the outfit has issued a press release in which it reveals that the Iconia Touchbook dual-display notebook had been priced as well.

For those that don't know, the Touchbook is one of those very few laptops to use a second display, touchscreen specifically, instead of a physical keyboard.

“The Acer Iconia Touchbook delivers a computing and visual experience like no other,” said Eric Ackerson, senior product marketing manager, Acer America.

“Whether the Touchbook is used by a small business owner or a student, its unique dual screen design enhances the interaction they will have with their digital data,”

“Our compelling design and applications will let them discover new and much more personal ways to communicate and enjoy the computing experience, regardless of whether it’s work related or for personal enjoyment,” he went on to saying.

Measuring 14 inches, the device runs on an Intel Core i5 central processing unit and uses 4 GB of RAM (as standard option), plus a HDD with 640 GB of storage.

It also boasts HDMI, WiFi, USB 3.0, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and Gorilla Glass, which shields both panels.

To this all is added a customized software suite, composed of a touch-based browser, a social network aggregator and the MyJournal clipping app, among other things.

US stores should have it up for sale at $1,199.99 US, the equivalent of $1,199 CAD.
