Acer may have been especially active on the consumer front lately, especially when it came to notebooks and netbooks, but the company seems to have decided upon once again turning its gaze towards the professional front. Unlike previously, however, the Taiwanese PC maker didn't just bring out some new laptop or desktop. Instead, it delivered a number of business-oriented display solutions that, while holding true to the same overall design, span a size difference of 10 inches.

The new line of liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors goes by the name of the B Series and is composed of seven models. They are called B173D, B193D, B203H, B223W, B233HUA, B243H and B273HU. Furthermore, as their names actually suggest, they have screen sizes of 17 inches, 19 inches, 20 inches, 22 inches, 23 inches, 24 inches and 27 inches, respectively.

The screen size serves to allow each monitor to cater to the needs of a certain end-user segment and, of course, determines the price difference between the siblings. The individual panels have response times of 5 or 2 ms and their stands come with the option of height adjustment and even pivot functionality on some models. A noteworthy feature is the contrast ratio, which can actually go as high as 12,000,000:1. Still, it is the native resolution that truly makes the items stand out. To be more specific, the displays go from a decent minimum of 1,280 x 1,024 pixels all the way up to 2,048 x 1,152 pixels.

Acer's new, professional B-Series monitors have already started to show up on a variety of European online stores and will connect to PCs via D-Sub and DVI inputs. Some models even boast a DisplayPort and a HDMI connector. Their prices go from 115 Euro to 427 Euro and further details may be found here.
