Acer, one of world's top three manufacturers of personal computer systems, has recently announced that it expects to see a better third quarter, in terms of revenue. The company that is to unveil its official Q3 results on October 30 has said that it expects the third quarter revenue to be up by about 5 percent, as the tech demand in the global economy is on an ascending trend.

According to a recent news-article on Reuters, Acer is expected to see better Q3 revenue, of 5 percent, mainly due to a rebound in the demand for technology, with the global economy showing more signs of recovery. In addition, the PC vendor reportedly declared that it expected PC shipments to be higher in the fourth quarter, compared to the previous one, mainly thanks to an uprise in demand for computers ahead of the holiday shopping season.

It appears that an optimistic outlook is catching on among the leading companies in the IT sector. Acer is joining major companies the likes of Intel and contract PC maker Compal, both of which have announced higher expectations for the upcoming period. Back in August, Intel revised its revenue forecast upwards, while Compal raised its shipment forecast.

The last quarter of the year is considered to be one of the strongest periods for most PC makers, as this is a time when shopping increases, mainly due to the holiday season. However, this year, there's a good chance that Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system will also leave its mark on sales of computer systems, that's because a new operating systems is typically followed by an increase in demand for computers.

Acer is expected to announce its official Q3 results and provide a forecast for the fourth quarter on October 30, according to the aforementioned report on Reuters.
