Though companies often take the time to unveil one new product or another, sometimes, they decide to come out in force, much in the way that Acer has done these past couple of days. The web is already swarming with reports and news of netbooks based on Intel or AMD CPUs. However, it appears that just catering to the needs of the laptop market isn't enough for the Taiwanese company, which has now issued a press release detailing a pair of desktops, also part of the Aspire Series.

The two newcomers go by the names of Aspire X5950 and X3950 and are small form-factor PCs. Their compact frames should not be allowed to deceive one's eyes, though, as Acer saw no reason why it shouldn't throw in as much memory and storage space as those encountered in a high-end gaming or business computer. To be more specific, the newcomers can integrate up to 8GB of RAM and have a maximum storage space of 2TB.

The high memory and storage options will ensure that buyers have more than enough resources to store and enjoy all sorts of multimedia files, including those in Full-HD quality. As for the graphics solution itself, the PC maker decided there was no reason against leaving it all up to the Intel HD graphics of the Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 chips. Other specifications include an optical disk drive (which can be a DVD or Blu-ray unit), as well as HDMI outputs, multi-card readers and the Arcade Deluxe 4.0 software, which makes digital content management easy and quick.

The internal parts of the Acer Aspire X5950 and X3950 are housed inside slim tower chassis with brushed-metal and high gloss black finish, respectively. Unfortunately, the official press release did not give out any information regarding pricing.
