As the keyboardless, multitouch media-tablet market steadily rises in popularity, convertible tablets continue to play the role of a link between these products and regular notebooks. Such products are generally acquired because they have the benefits of portability without sacrificing the substantial usability enabled by the keyboard. This is the reason why PC suppliers like Acer still manufacture products like the Aspire 1825PTZ.

The Acer Aspire 1825PTZ was introduced to the market last month, but it has not exactly been available for shipment. Now that it has been made available, it is expected to perform quite well, considering that it combines a decent price with performance specs that are more than enough for any business user intent on employing it as a traveling companion or auxiliary working platform. Of course, there is also the ease of use and versatility added by Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and the possibility of swiveling the display and turn the entire machine into a slate-type device.

The Acer Aspire 1825PTZ is powered by an Intel Pentium SU4100 central processing unit (which has a frequency of 1.3GHz) and boasts a 320GB HDD, 4GB of RAM and a screen size of 11.6 inches. This display makes the mobile PC better suited for office-type tasks than netbooks, especially thanks to its support for a 1,366 x 768 resolution. The actual video capabilities themselves are provided by the Intel GMA 4500 integrated graphics.

Other specifications of the laptop include a 5-in-1 card reader, an HDMI output, a six-cell battery and the full set of connectivity options, namely Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi. In fact, the only so-called drawback that this electronic has is its lack of an optical drive. Still, end-users may be able to see past this when they hear that the PC is already shipping in Europe, for the price of only 560 Euro.
