Acer America has just announced the availability of its latest series of ultraportable Timeline family of portable computer systems, featuring Intel's growing CULV platform. The Timeline will be available for US customers in three distinct form factors, including 13.3-inch AS3810, 14-inch AS4810 and 15.6-inch AS5810 lines. These new systems have been designed to meet the requirements of mobile enthusiasts looking for an ultraportable PC that can deliver more than 8 hours of battery lifer, according to the world leading system vendor.

 

“Acer has introduced yet another game changer in the world of notebook PCs,” said Sumit Agnihotry vice president of product marketing, Acer America. “The Timeline sets new standards in both value and battery life, which are sure to be well received in this economy by on-the-go, yet always connected consumers.”

 

Announced since back in April this year and already made available in Europe, the Timeline series of ultraportable PCs boasts Intel’s new CULV platform, enabling system vendors to develop ultrathin and ultraportable computer systems. In addition, these new systems can provide users with an increased energy-efficiency, delivering hours of battery life.

 

Despite being available in three major form factors, these new Timeline laptops, have all been designed on Intel's GS45 Express chipset and provide support for the low-power Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Solo and Pentium processors. As far as technical specifications go, these systems will boast Intel's integrated 4500MHD graphics chip, and will provide a minimum of three USB 2.0 ports, multi-gesture touchpad, multi-in-one card reader, wireless 802.11n connectivity, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory and a 6-cell battery pack.

 

Various processor configurations will be available within a price range of $598 to $899, providing users with a higher-performance alternative to current netbook systems, while also keeping the price tag and power consumption to a minimum.
