Earlier this year, Acer, one of the leading makers of computer systems, introduced its cool-looking desktop gaming rig, also known as the “Predator.” With all that, it took the company this long, until now, to finally bring its high-performance “Predator” to the good Ol' US of A. In addition, Acer has also made available the G24, a 24-inch LCD screen that features the industry's highest 50000:1 contrast ratio, which, coupled together with the gaming-ready Predator, should deliver an optimum visual experience.

“Boasting advanced technology for exceptional speed, visuals and sound, our gaming powerhouse will fire up even hard core gamers,” said Stephanie Eggert, senior manager, Retail Desktop Product Planning for Acer America. “It’s a killer system at a price that won’t break the bank. Aggressive in design, price and performance, the Aspire Predator is gaming nirvana.”

So far, the company has made available two different configurations of its Predator gaming system, each designed to meet the requirements of different types of gaming users. However, the main difference between the two configurations is that the lower-priced version combines an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 processor, running at 2.5GHz, with the graphics power delivered by NVIDIA's GeForce 9600GT video card, while the higher-priced version boasts a Core 2 Quad Q9550 CPU, running at 2.83GHz and NVIDIA's GeForce 9800 GTX graphics.

Aside from that, both configurations can deliver three 640GB SATA II hard drives, built-in optical drive, multi-in-one card reader, eight USB 2.0 ports, and Microsoft's Windows Vista Premium 64 with SP1. Price-wise, the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 configuration is available now for an MRSP of $1,649, while the higher-performance Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550-equipped version comes with an MRSP of $2,199.

As far as the 24-inch Acer G24 LCD screen is concerned, you will be able to purchase it for a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $399.99.
