The company didn't exactly say when, but we guess “this year” is close enough

Acer didn't go through very good times in 2010 and 2012, in no small part due to the collapse of the netbook market.

Now, though, the IT company actually seems to be doing better. It even reported solid finances for the first quarter, as opposed to others that only had bleak tidings to give.

The ultrabook market will be a major determining factor in Acer's evolution from now on.

As for the rest, Acer has already cut its losses, more or less, even laying off 300 employees in Europe in Q4, 2011.

The company hopes its finances will go up every quarter from now on. It didn't say when, exactly, we should expect it in the top three (after HP and Lenovo), but we think it may even be this year. Don't hold us to that though.
