Acer has in store a nice desktop PC which seems to have been designed as to meet the requirements of multimedia enthusiasts. The Aspire X3200 desktop comes with a Blu-ray drive and great amount of storage space to allow users to store and watch as many high-definition videos as they want. Yet, this is not all; the new Aspire X3200 goes on sale with a 24-inch 1080p LCD display, the P244W. It would have looked quite attractive, no doubt, if it hadn't had a minor glitch.

The new Acer desktop comes with an NVIDIA GeForce 8200 integrated graphics chip, and there is no room under the hood for a high-end discrete graphics solution. Nevertheless, even the integrated video board allows for Blu-ray movies to be played nicely, and this may seem enough to some, mainly due to the HDMI port the board features. The Aspire X3200 also features an AMD Phenom X3 8450 triple-core processor which goes along 4GB of memory and a 640GB hard drive.

The specifications chart of the machine shows it to include a multi-in-one card reader which supports a wide range of devices including optional CF+ Microdrive, CompactFlash I/II, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick PRO Duo, MMCmobile, miniSD, MultiMediaCard, Reduced-Size MultiMediaCard (RS-MMC), Secure Digital, xD-Picture Card. A variable-speed Super-Multi drive, a USB port, as well as a FireWire (IEEE 1394) port can also be found on this system.

The new Acer Aspire X3200 comes in a slim tower form-factor case, which makes it easily fit into any home. Even if it is small, the machine hides inside the chassis a good deal of power. The motherboard features one PCI Express x16 expansion slot and comes with embedded high-definition audio with 5.1-channel audio support. The interface ports include RJ-45 LAN, VGA port, headphones and microphone jacks, HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) port, eSATA, FireWire (IEEE 1394), Two PS/2, five audio slots and nine USB 2.0 ports (five front, four back).

Besides the software suites that Acer offers for security management and for out-of-the-box use, the Aspire X3200 also comes with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. The suggested retail price has been set at $679.99. The 24-inch P244W has a price tag of $399. More specifications on this desktop PC are available on Acer's Web site.
