Things seem to be settling down now that the initial Computex craze has passed

Over the past few days we have been kept quite busy by the weird things at Computex 2012, but now we can finally catch up on the normal devices brought there.

In Acer's case, we were unable to write about the Aspire V5 until now because we hurried to cover its AMD Trinity Tablet (which costs just $199 USD / €159) and the Aspire S7 Windows 8 ultrabook, among other things.

Anyway, Aspire V5 is a line of Ivy Bridge laptops measuring 14 inches and 15.3 inches in diagonal.

Both Core i3 and Core i5 CPUs are selectable (with Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics), along with DVD drives, 500 GB HDDs and 16:9 HD screens (1,366 x 768 pixels).

The rest of the specs are pretty common as far as mainstream notebooks go. Sales should start at the end of the month (June, 2012), for $629.99 / 500 Euro or above. Sandy Bridge versions will be available too, for $449.99 / 357 Euro.
