Acer is reportedly said to plan a considerable expansion of its netbook lineup with the addition of a couple of new models, besides the 11.6-inch model that has recently surfaced on the Internet. The PC vendor is planning to add at least two more netbook models that will be part of the company's new Aspire One Pro range of netbook systems. Unlike the leaked 11.6-inch model, these two new ones, dubbed Aspire One Pro 731 and Aspire One Pro 531, will boast a display of 10-inch and will be available alongside the newest addition to Acer's range of netbooks, the Aspire One D150.

According to the available details, the new Aspire One Pro 731 will boast an Atom Z530 processor, running at 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive. The system is said to measure 284 x 198 x 26 mm and weigh 1.25kg, packed with a standard battery, which will deliver approximately 4 hours of battery life, though it can be upgraded to 8 hours with an extended battery pack. Overall, the specifications on the Aspire One Pro 731 look similar to those on most 10-inch netbooks on the market.

In addition to the new Aspire One Pro 11.6-inch model and the One Pro 731, Acer is also planning to unveil the Aspire One 531 netbook, which will sport a 10.2-inch slimline design and will offer 3G HSPA connectivity. There are few details available at this point, including pricing and expected availability date, but these new netbooks are expected to become available in the near future.

Acer has led the netbook market with the release of just one netbook, the initial Aspire One. However, according to available details, the PC vendor is trying a different strategy with the release of several new models, based on the same or a similar technical configuration.
