Ultrabooks have been making the news for both promising and less fortunate reasons, and Acer's Aspire 3951 is the one to most recently gain attention (again), albeit under a different name.

The Ultrabook concept, even though it hasn't painted itself as the most affordable of new laptop concepts, has, nonetheless, stirred things up on the PC market.

This is because both Intel and PC makers have been praising the idea and promoting, directly or otherwise, their inventions.

Acer is one of those involved in the movement, having prepared a certain machine known as the Aspire 3951.

Set to be made available in September (2011) or October, it has already shown up in photos and, for the most part, has had its specifications exposed to the general public.

Now, this same item has shown up online, in Italy, only under a different name, that of Ultrabook S3, as spotted by Notebook Italia.

For those that want a reminder, the device relies on an Intel Core central processing unit, featuring its own integrated graphics (HD 3000).

The CPU in the new listing is Core i5-2467M, boasts a clock speed of 1.6 GHz and is backed up by 4 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory).

The buyers of the S3 can also select a solid state drive of 20 GB, though the default storage option is a hard disk drive of 320 GB.

All this, along with the expected connectivity and I/O features. are packed in a 13.3-inch frame (all-aluminum) and priced at €786.19. The online listing on monclick can be found here.

For those that want to know what they might also browse for in their quest to make an informed decision, there are, naturally, other ultrabooks in the works, such as the six models from ASUS, spoken of here.
