Apparently, the operating system isn't getting upgraded properly, so Acer made a special app that would take care of the problem.
The video embedded above is all the walkthrough you need. Alas, we can't say for sure what the App actually does or why the OTA (over-the-air) update doesn't work without it.
All we've got is "application software is required for the ICS upgrade. Please download."
It may be that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS will never arrive on its own, or it will (eventually), but this small program just speeds up the process.
Either way, go get it and bask in the greatness of the latest tablet OS from Google.
