Having already refreshed the hardware options of several other mobile personal computers, Acer has issued a press release meant to also make known that the Aspire AS8943G can now be outfitted with a 2GB video board.

The Acer Aspire AS8943G is among the larger notebooks on the market, with a screen size of 18.4 inches.

Naturally, such a device is expected to feature hardware of a certain level, so its maker made it possible to configure it with a newer graphics card.

The discrete graphics solution in question is the AMD Radeon HD 5850 with 2GB of memory, for smooth DirectX 11 gaming and, of course, multimedia playback.

The laptop's configuration is built around the Intel Core i7-740 central processing unit (CPU), which is backed up by a suitable amount to memory.

Said amount can be of 4GB or 8GB and, paired with the video card, will definitely make the best of the Full HD LED-backlit display.

Currently, there are two distinct models of the notebook that feature the new video solutions, the AS8943G-9319 and AS8943G-9429.

Both of them have Gigabit Ethernet, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, a hard disk drive of 500 GB, 802.11n WiFi and five built-in speakers, plus a dedicated subwoofer.

“For gamers and other computing enthusiasts, a holiday gift couldn’t get much better than this,” said Preeta Anil, Acer product marketing.

“The Acer Aspire notebooks featuring ATI’s newest and fastest GPU will allow them to get the best possible experience out of their PC, surrounding and immersing themselves in the most graphic- intensive games or the latest Blu-ray action adventure movie,” Anil added.

Already selling through online stores in America, the laptops have a starting price of $1,499.99.

“Featuring top-of-the line technologies and usability features, the Aspire Series is designed for creating multimedia content, watching movies or dominating the latest PC games,” states the press release.
