14 DAY TRIAL // AccuWeather has just announced that its application for accurate and localized weather has just been updated to version 2.0.
The application has received a negative feedback and got only a 3.2 rating on Android Market, but seems to be the most popular weather application for Android with more than 1 million downloads.
AccuWeather for Android has weather in 23 languages and features customizable color themes, and thanks to the latest update it also offers social media sharing.
With AccuWeather, Android users will be able to plan their day and make personal or future plans with confidence knowing that they will be safeguarded from weather interruptions.
The latest major update of the application brings several new features and improvements:
- Detailed hourly forecasts, interactive maps, and severe weather notices; - Social media sharing; - Improved navigation and search functionality; - Saved, favorite locations for quick, easy access, users can even customize the app’s color schemes.
AccuWeather for Android offers users the possibility to be alerted about weather events including, snow, ice, rain, wind speed/gusts, and probability of thunderstorms, by simply using the Weather Alarms feature.
In addition, in-phone status bar on home screen displays the current temperature for user’s current or home location.
According to the developer, this feature is customizable by the user in the “Settings” menu under “Notifications”.
Although the application is able to store up to 10 favorite location, users can add an unlimited number of locations along favorite ones.
It is also worth mentioning that the current weather conditions data is updated every 15 minutes and includes humidity percentages, visibility, UV index, wind speed gusts and direction, times for sunrise and sunset, and RealFeel.
The latter is AccuWeather’s proprietary weather forecasting system that takes into account multiple weather conditions to determine how the localized temperature actually feels.
AccuWeather 2.0 for Android is now available as a free download from Android Market and is compatible with all devices running Android 1.6 or newer.
