She’s 17, she’s too young to be posing like this, angry voices are saying

A couple of days ago, Oscar-winning actress Abigail Breslin posted a couple of photos on her Instagram from a Tyler Shields photoshoot they did after he directed her in “Final Girl.” The pics have “exploded” online, with Abigail now finding herself at the eye of the storm for agreeing to take part in the racy shoot.

To be fair, the “raciness” of the shoot is rather implied than direct, as you can see from the photo attached to this article, which shows Abigal covering herself with a sheet while moodily chewing on a bright red lollipop.

The other photo shows her in a bathtub, with her back to the camera, while looking over the shoulder with her heavily madeup eyes. She’s obviously not dressed, but you don’t really see anything but her back.

According to many, at 17, Abigail is simply too young to be taking part in such suggestive photoshoots. Plus, voices online are saying, she’s also too good to allow this to happen to her. Shields is considered either a genius in photography or the heir apparent of Terry Richardson because they both have the same objectifying vision of women.

In a statement to Us Weekly, Tyler Shields defends himself against all criticism saying that people need to stop reading so much into everything. After all, it was Abigail’s choice to take part in the shoot.

“Abigail wanted to do something new, something iconic. People see her as innocent, but everyone grows up. After we made Final Girl together, we had a great relationship and it was easy to do this. She trusts me,” he says.

As for whether the young actress was nervous about ditching her clothes in front of him, he tends to believe she was not.

“I don't know if she gets nervous after the hell I put her through making the movie! She was great about it. She's an incredible actress!” Shields says.

Right now, the debate on whether Abigal is “above” such sleazy photoshoots is still raging. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below.
