While the new high-end graphics cards are trickling in, AU Optronics figured it would make some announcements of its own, so it issued a fairly long press release in which it describes multiple displays.

AUO showed up at the FPD International 2010 show in Japan, whose theme, this year, its "innovative technologies."

There, the company introduced several new products and technologies, among the most noteworthy being the world's supposedly largest CSHD TV LCD Panel.

Essentially, this is a 71-inch 21:9 CSHD 3D TV LCD panel, which even has some smaller siblings, namely a 65-inch QFHD 4K2K lenticular lens 3D panel and a 65-inch pattern retarder 3D LCD TV panel.

The company also showed off what it called “the first ultra-slim 21.5-inch Displayport Monitor with wide viewing angles.,” though no actual specs were included in the release.

There was also mention of a 14-inch AMOLED 3D pattern retarder TV panel, with an advanced OLED technology that enables high-response 3D with wide viewing angles and high contrast.

It has a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and can switch between 2D and 3D modes at any given time.

These 3D panels are not the only things that AUO has on display at FPD, as the company has also developed “the first in-cell multi-color optical touch panel for e-board applications.”

Among the in-touch panels that it has come up with is also a 32-inch model with optical color pen function.

Said color pen function allows green, red and blue to be mixed, so as to create up to seven distinct colors.

There are also panels with ten touch points, one of 24 inches and a 10-inch on-cell touch panel.

Finally, AU Optronics proudly showcased its 7-inch and 5-inch touchscreens, which are lighter and 60 percent slimmer than other touch panels, this coming in addition to the benefit of using 10 percent less energy.

'These small, sturdy panels are the finest green displays available,” says the company's announcement.
