They call it 'Tough' because it can survive a hammer hit

ATP's Tough Drive is more than an external storage device. It can be your extra RAM-memory for a stubborn laptop that just won't run your brand-new Vista; plus, you can use it as your confident wherever you go. Your information is sure to be safe.

The USB pen drive is a high quality storage medium. Don't let the name fool you - its surface is covered with a soft rubber layer that proves itself very useful should you drop it. This material is also scratch-sensitive, so you don't have to worry about it wearing off if you keep it in your keyring (the key hook is also included in the package). The same rubber layer offers protection against water/moisture, dust, static discharge and extreme temperatures.

The ATP ToughDrive supports the Windows Vista ReadyBoost feature and can act as an additional memory cache, which would result in an increased system performance. With a top access time of 0.4 miliseconds and an average transfer rate of 34.8 MB/s, the ATP ToughDrive can easily claim the number one in its series.

For those of you who think that 2 Gigabytes is not enough, the device provides a compression method that would add extra capacity to the memory stick, thus allowing more data to be stored in compressed form.

ATP also provides additional software for the product which would extend its functionality. The flash memory can be divided into a public and a private partition. The public/private partition size can be easily modified within the same software utility. The private partition access is conditioned by a password, but this method of protection is not guaranteed to be hacker-proof. However, it might be handy should you lose it.

The producer offers another piece of commercial software, Carry It Easy, which allows for File, Folder and Desktop synchronization operations between different computers. It also features data synchronization with other software products such as Microsoft's Outlook.
