ASUS may have released the ATIV Smart PCs last month, but the products are not available worldwide yet. Fortunately, the company is doing what it can to remedy that.

Long story short, the ATIV Smart PC and Smart PC Pro are now up for order in India, for Rs. 53,990 and Rs. 75,490.

According to exchange rates, that more or less fits the US and EU prices of $750-900 / 750-900 Euro and $1200 / 1200 Euro, respectively.

Overall, the tablets capable of transforming into laptops have many things in common, but are set apart by a fundamental difference: the CPUs.

The ATIV Smart PC uses an Atom chip (1.8 GHz), but the Smart PC Pro has an Intel Core i5 central processing unit (1.7 GHz multi-core).

That said, the displays have a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels (HD) or 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD, on Smart PC Pro only), and diagonals of 11.6 inches.

The specifications continue with 2 GB and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM (random access memory), support for the S Pen stylus, dual cameras, micro HDMI, Wi-Fi support (wireless networking) and Ethernet.

Furthermore, the storage capacity is higher than some may be used to, after seeing dozens of 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB slates.

The Smart PC gets eMMC storage of 64 GB capacity, while the Smart PC Pro is equipped with 128 GB of storage space.

Finally, the tablets have USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, plus batteries that last for up to 13.5 hours and 8 hours, respectively, before needing a recharge.

Samsung ATIV Smart PC and Smart PC Pro both run Microsoft's Windows 8 operating system, as well as whatever apps owners download from the Microsoft app store. Older programs are supported as well, although they will rely more heavily on the detachable keyboards.
