ATI has recently announced it came up with a new chipset that supports mobile or desktop workstations that are powered by Intel's processors. The Radeon Xpress 1250 is the first Intel-based chipset to support ATI's revolutionary Avivo display and video architecture, a technology that is meant to enhance the high definition video playback.

Furthermore, when ATI's latest chipset is coupled with the SB600 South Bridge, 'the resulting mixture' can provide support for up to 10 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports, 4 SATA II ports with RAID capability, being compatible with the latest memory and networking standards.

But the manufacturer's latest development is also a Vista ready product and is designed to handle Vista's Aero Glass features, while it can face even the most demanding multitasking environments.

"With the new Radeon Xpress 1250, ATI is focused on optimizing graphics performance for the mobile and desktop world," said Philip G. Eisler, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Chipset and Notebook Business Unit, ATI Technologies.
