ATI is readying the shipment of its new AGP card, sources say. The company is set to release the Radeon X800 GTO cards that feature AGP architecture. The new cards are supposed to follow the success of the X800 GTO PCIe cards that are already shipping.

The AGP version of ATI X800 GTO will work at almost the same speeds as the X800 GTO PCIe model but it will be based on a native AGP R420 core. It is said that the cards will be on the retail channel somewhere during next week. This might be just in time for the Christmas shopping season, all over the world.

The ATI X1600 AGP cards are scheduled for the first quarter of 2006 but the X800 GTO AGP is said to be launched at the same time with the X1600 AGP ones. Expectations are high because the brother of the X800 GTO AGP, the X800 GTO PCIe is a very flexible card, allowing high levels of overclocking ability.

The RADEON X800 series offers a future-proof solution by fully adapting the newest PC architecture standard - PCI Express to support current and upcoming game titles, operating systems and multimedia applications. ATI's PCI Express graphics have the ability to send and receive data simultaneously at twice the speed of current AGP 8X solutions with reliability and better power management, by offering a one-chip PCI Express solution.
