Ngmoco, known as one of the most popular iOS game developers, and major carrier AT&T have just announced that they have teamed up to bring the Mobage social gaming platform to Android customers.

Ngmoco was acquired back in October 2010, by Japanese social game developer DeNA for over $400 million, in an attempt to form one of the most successful mobile social games platform company in the world.

The recent announcement marks ngmoco's first collaboration with a U.S.-based network operator.

Under the agreement, ngcomo's Mobage social gaming platfrom will serve as a hub for AT&T Android users.

The platform will enable customers to easily discover and play games, as well as connect and communicate with other players around the world.

Games are consistently among the most popular entertainment apps for smartphones. We are pleased to be the first U.S. wireless carrier to work with ngmoco and look forward to giving our Android customers access to the rich Mobage gaming catalog later this year,” said Ted Woodbery, vice president, Wireless Data, Voice and Ancillary Services, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.

It appears that Mobage is currently in beta in North America, but both companies have high hopes for the social gaming platform, which is expected to become the premiere destination for mobile users to play high-quality social games.

Furthermore, Ngmoco and AT&T encourage developers to bring games to Mobage and recommends them to visit the platform's website for additional information.

AT&T has been a leader in the smartphone revolution in many ways. We are delighted to bring Mobage to the massive group of Android users on the network,” said Neil Young, CEO, ngmoco.

According to the carrier, AT&T customers will be able to download and install the Mobage application for free from Android Market.

In addition, the full catalog of Mobage titles can be accessed via the Android app.
