As expected, AT&T confirmed it would offer the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone beginning March 22 for $200/€155 with a new two-year agreement.

According to AT&T, customers will be able to pre-order the Z10 starting March 12 and the smartphone will be generally available for all consumers, including corporate customers or those receiving a corporate discount, through all AT&T channels on March 22.

“AT&T customers were the first to experience BlackBerry smartphones and services in the U.S. and we are thrilled to bring the next evolution, the BlackBerry Z10, to the nation’s fastest 4G LTE network,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices and Developer Services, AT&T Mobility.

The first smartphone to be powered by BlackBerry 10 operating system, the Z10 features a high-resolution 4.2-inch display that supports HD (768 x 1280 pixels) resolution.

In addition, the smartphone boasts an enhanced 8-megapixel rear camera that records 1080p HD video and features autofocus and LED flash for taking pictures in low-light environments.

Hardware-wise, the Z10 is the most powerful smartphone launched by BlackBerry to date. The phone comes equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

There are 16GB of storage inside the Z10, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

Last but not least, the phone is powered by a 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 312 hours of standby time or up to 10 hours of talk time.

“Customers who have grown to love the tried and true BlackBerry experience will continue to enjoy the easy typing and the secure platform they expect with a fresh platform that lets them get more out of their smartphone with easy access to all their messages in BlackBerry Hub,” concluded Bradley.
