Says Moto's Android phones are too old

Mobile phone maker Motorola is reportedly getting ready to announce some of its Android-powered mobile phones as soon as September 10, as the company already made public plans to hold an Android event on that day. Unfortunately, it seems that one of its major carrier partners, namely AT&T, won't come to the party, as it has just rejected Motorola's handsets running under the Google Android operating system for being too old, MKM Partners analyst Tero Kuittinen states.

With AT&T leaving Motorola's Android ship, the mobile phone maker seems to have even fewer chances than before to regain its position on the handset market. The wireless carrier was expected to launch two Motorola devices running under Google's OS, yet it seems that none of them will see the light of day. This can be certainly seen as one of the greatest hits Motorola has received lately, though not all hope is lost.

At least two other carriers are expected to play a part in the company's move into the Android area, namely T-Mobile and Verizon. Rumors about Android mobile phones from the maker that will become available through the two operators have emerged, and some phone names have already been spotted, including the Motorola Morrison and Motorola Sholes. For the time being, however, it is rather uncertain which of these handsets will be announced ten days from now.

At the same time, we should also note that only T-Mobile is reported to come to the Android event Motorola plans for September 10. Given the fact that the Morrison has been recently spotted at FCC with support for T-Mobile's bands, there are great chances that this device will become official on that day. As for the Sholes, which should head towards Verizon, we might have to wait a little longer before it becomes official. According to PhoneArena, a Verizon representative stated that the carrier wouldn't be present at the event.
