AT&T is the first US-based carrier to start taking Samsung Galaxy S5 pre-orders. US Cellular should kick off pre-orders later today, while T-Mobile has announced that it will begin taking Galaxy S5 pre-orders on March 24.

However, all three carriers will start selling the Galaxy S5 on April 11, as Samsung confirmed back in February during the Unpacked 5 launch event, though AT&T claims that it will ship the device on April 8.

Customers can now pre-order the AT&T Galaxy S5 for only $25 (€18) per month with AT&T Next 18, $32.50 (€23.50) per month with AT&T Next 12 or $200 (€145) with a two-year agreement.

Those who do not wish to commit to a long-term contract can also pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S5 for $650 (€470) outright.

According to AT&T, customers who purchase the Galaxy S5 beginning today, March 21, will receive a $50 (€35) discount on Samsung Gear 2 or Gear 2 Neo. This offer is available until June 5, while supplies last.

T-Mobile USA will offer the Galaxy S5 for the same suggested retail price, but those who agree to a 24-month plan will be able to get it for $0 down.

US Cellular has also announced that it will sell the smartphone for $200 (€145) with a new two-year agreement. The carrier will also offer a $50 Google Play Store promotional code for free to all those who pre-order the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Just like US Cellular, AT&T will offer the Galaxy S5 in Charcoal Black and Shimmery White. Samsung has announced that the smartphone will also be available in Electric Blue, but this version doesn’t seem to be available for pre-order in the United States yet. Perhaps it will arrive later on, or it will be exclusive to some carrier.

Anyway, the Galaxy S5 will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right out of the box, alongside Samsung TouchWiz UI.

On the inside, the smartphone will be armed with a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, and Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

Keep in mind that AT&T only takes pre-orders for the 16GB version of Samsung Galaxy S5. No word yet on the 32GB variant’s availability.

“AT&T continues to grow its leading device line and is proud to add the Samsung Galaxy S 5 to the nation’s most reliable 4G LTE network. AT&T was the first carrier to deliver Samsung’s Galaxy family of devices to consumers in the U.S and we look forward to adding to the best selection of Samsung Galaxy models in 2014,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, devices, AT&T.
