Mobile phone carrier AT&T has just announced the launch of a new device that can connect to its HSPA+ network, the USBConnect Force 4G from Huawei. The new device is expected to become available for all of the carrier's customers as of July 17th, for free upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

However, those who would like to try a pre-paid DataConnect Pass from the wireless carrier will have to get $89.99 out of their pockets to purchase the USBConnect Force 4G, and can choose data plan options via a built-in activation process.

The new AT&T USBConnect Force 4G can offer enhanced connectivity capabilities to all laptop users, providing them with access to email, Internet browsing, or with the possibility to download presentations, attachments and more while on the go.

All that users need to do to enjoy the capabilities of the new device is to plug it into a USB port on a laptop and then follow the installation instructions.

The new USBConnect Force 4G also will provide support for 4G speeds, as well as for microSD memory cards of up to 32 GB, not to mention that it can also connect to any of the more than 24,000 AT&T Hot Spots around the country, as long as users have a qualifying domestic data plan.

“The AT&T USBConnect Force 4G is a very affordable option for customers who want to quickly access the Internet while they’re mobile,” said Mike Woodward, vice president, Mobile Phone Portfolio, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.

“Whether surfing the web or working on the go, AT&T customers can rely on the nation’s fastest mobile broadband network.”

The new device comes with HSPA/HSPA+ (850/1900/2100 MHz), EDGE/GPRS (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) connectivity, measures 3.43” L x 1.16” W x 0.64”D and weighs in at 1.13 ounces. It also includes LED status indicators, along with support for Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and for Mac OS X v10.5 or later.

Users interested in the new USBConnect Force 4G can choose a monthly plan for $50/month on the carrier's airwaves, with 5G of data included into the mix, or they can choose one of the DataConnect Pass packages the carrier has in store for its customers.

With no contract agreement in tow, the DataConnect Pass packages would offer 100MB of data a day for $15, 300MB of data for a week for $30, or 1GB of data a month for $50.
