As expected, major carrier AT&T has just announce a new music streaming service aimed at families, Beats Music. The new service is available beginning January 21 for $15 (€11) a month.

Those who decide to sign up for the new music streaming service will be able to use it for up to 5 family members across no less than 10 devices.

Basically, Beats Music functions like a multiline account with which customers will be able to get unlimited streaming music and downloads for offline listening for up to five family members.

According to AT&T, each family member can get 24/7 access to more than 20 million songs for the$15 (€11) monthly fee. In addition, the carrier confirmed it offers the streaming music services as a 90 days free trial for families.

Keep in mind though that Beat Music functions similar to other subscription-based services like PlayStation Plus, so once you no longer pay your monthly fee you won't be able to access the songs data base. The offline songs won't be available either until a valid subscription is available.

AT&T also claims that Beats Music has been created by artists and music professionals, as they create personalized playlists based on user's specific mood or moment.

“Our collaboration with Beats Music is solving two major industry challenges. Beats Music is focused on delivering a different music service with personalized curation from real industry experts and AT&T is focused on breaking the affordability barrier that currently exists for families in subscription and downloaded music. Everyone in the family loves music.

AT&T developed an innovative offer that lets each member of the family enjoy unlimited downloads of the music they love, as well as access to all that is unique about Beats Music – all at breakthrough value on a premium wireless network,” said David Christopher, AT&T Mobility Chief Marketing Officer.
