AT&T announced that following a partnership with Cloud, one of the largest public Wi-Fi providers in Europe, it is now offering its customers access to over 9,000 new Wi-Fi locations in several European countries, including the UK, Germany and the Nordic countries.

The recent deal is part of AT&T's global expansion program which is meant to accelerate the delivery of global IP services and solutions to businesses and multinational companies in key markets all around the world. The new addition of Wi-Fi hotspots is especially beneficial to business and consumer travelers who can now conveniently check their email, access corporate information, or surf the Internet while on the go.

"AT&T is committed to continue to expand its Enterprise Mobility portfolio which will provide our customers with flexible Wi-Fi to access corporate networks and stay in touch with the home or the office anywhere and at any time," commented John V Slamecka, Vice President for AT&T's operations in Europe, the Middle East & Africa.

"The Cloud is delighted to be working with AT&T to help its customers access vital business data on the move," added Owen Geddes, Director of Business Development at The Cloud. "The Cloud has the largest European footprint in its field, and its extensive network coverage is ideally suited to business travellers wanting seamless hotspot access across major EU countries."

With the addition of Cloud's Wi-Fi hotspots, AT&T's total global Wi-Fi service area now counts more than 57,000 hotspots spread throughout 83 countries, with more than 28,000 Wi-Fi access points being located across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Out of the 9,000 hotspots supplied by Cloud, 7,600 are found across the UK, while 900 are placed in Germany and 500 in the Nordic countries. AT&T is offering undifferentiated access to its entire global network of Wi-Fi access points to enterprises, small business and residential customers alike for the same tariffs based on the selected service plan.
