At least 6 new nice devices are heading towards AT&T's users

Besides the much-talked-about iPhone 3G, which will be on sale in the US starting July 11, 8 AM local time, AT&T has also prepared other cool handsets for its loyal (or disloyal) subscribers.

According to GearDiary, the largest America mobile carrier will be offering at least six new mid and high-end handsets by the end of 2008.

[Admark=1]First of all, there's the BlackBerry Bold 9000, RIM's new flagship smartphone, but this was already announced to come via AT&T - most probably, it will be released in August. The other new BlackBerry that AT&T plans to release is the 8320 Curve, which will bring users Wi-Fi and lots of other BlackBerry-specific features (no 3G though, but that's a common thing for RIM's smartphones, unfortunately).

The most interesting new device seems to be the AT&T Tilt 2, which should replace the first one. The Tilt is actually the US version of HTC TyTN II, a powerful Pocket PC that has a wide range of advanced features. We don't know yet whether the Tilt 2 will be TyTN III, but we do know its (unconfirmed) features: Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, GPS, Push to talk, Wi-Fi, a 3 Megapixel camera, tri-band HSDPA plus quad-band GSM connectivity, a 528 MHz processor, 128MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM. Well, specs-wise it doesn't seem too different from the first Tilt, but it might bring some really new things when it comes to design. We'll find out more in the fourth quarter of 2008, when the Tilt 2 is scheduled for a release.

Samsung Blackjack 3 is another Windows Mobile 6.1 device to go on sale via AT&T in the fourth quarter of the year. The smartphone will bring about the same features as the Tilt 2.

An unnamed Samsung is also on the list, packed with a 624 MHz processor, GSM and 3G connectivity, GPS, Wi-Fi, WM 6.1 and a 2 Megapixel camera. This might be Samsung Omnia, but the 2 Megapixel camera doesn't confirm it, as the Omnia packs a 5 Metapixel one.

A new Pantech Duo will hit AT&T's stores too, coming after the original one, released back in October 2007. The new Duo apparently has the following features: quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band HSDPA connectivity, Windows Mobile 6.1, internal GPS, a 2 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, USB, memory expansion slot, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of ROM and a 528 MHz processor.

There are also rumors about a new LG, but there's no info about it, except for the fact that it doesn't have a QWERTY keyboard.

New phones aside, AT&T will also release updates for lots of its current devices. For example, Windows Mobile 6.1 will come to the following handsets: the first version of Tilt, the first version of Pantech Duo, Samsung Blackjack 2 and Motorola Q9H. Furthermore, BlackBerry OS 4.5 will be brought to all the BackBerry Curve smartphones as well as to the Pearl 8120.
