Nobody was surprised when ASUS rolled out three new MeMO Pad tablets today. The slates come in a variety of fun colors and arrive boasting pretty attractive features, including full HD IPS display and Intel Bay Trail or Moorefield processors inside.

The new 7-inch MeMO Pad tablet offers the standard resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels on an IPS display with 170 degree viewing angle, notes LaptopMag.

Life is drawn from an Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core processor, which is a 64-bit Bay Trail chip working in concert with 1GB of RAM and 8GB or 16GB of internal storage. Other than that, we have two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP in front), Miracast, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth.

ASUS is also throwing in an optional MagSmart case which wakes up the device once you flip back its screen cover.

As for the 8-inch MeMO Pad, we’re seeing a more appealing set of specs. For starters, this slate had full HD display and embeds an Intel Atom Z3580 Moorefield processor, not a Bay Trail one.

The chip is a 64-bit quad-core one and is based on Intel’s architecture for mobile devices with mobile data support. Which translates into the MeMO Pad also being equipped with 4G LTE function and 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

ASUS is marketing the tablet as being the world’s lightest 8-inch LTE slate, which weighs 10.5 ounces / 297 g thanks to the Moorefield architecture.

Both the 7-incher and 8-incher run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. ASUS reps said the new tablets would start shipping out very soon, but an exact date or pricing specifications were not mentioned.
