There have been a number of new products announced at this year's Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas, with the gaming-ready G73JH laptop from ASUS being one of the highlighted items. The Taiwanese company appears to have adopted a strategy to provide its consumers with some of the latest configurations available on the market, which is why the G73JH makes use of a combination of Intel's latest CPUs with AMD's new generation of Mobility Radeon HD 5xxx series of GPUs.

Although it was announced a month ago, the laptop appears to have been pushed relatively quickly to the consumer market. Fans of ASUS and its gaming laptop series will be able to order their own G73JH-X1 model from Newegg, where the laptop is available for a price of US$1449,99. For that, you'll get a 17.3-inch laptop, ready to provide you with the necessary performance to run the latest gaming applications on the market, including some of those DirectX 11 titles that have recently been made available.

As far as technical specifications go, the new laptop packs the latest, mixing Intel's Core i7 720QM processor with no less than 8GB of RAM and a large-capacity 500GB hard drive, all for good gaming pleasure. Sure enough, we should also mention the Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics chip, which basically adds the DirectX 11 support and provides users with the necessary power to run games at a 1920 by 1080p resolution.

Additional features include the standard DVD burner, 2.0MP webcam, 802.11b/g/n wireless chip, Ethernet LAN port, HDMI and VGA, a good 4 USB 2.0 ports, 8-in-1 media card reader and an 8-cell battery pack, good to provide just enough power juice to run this monster for some gaming time. You'll also get built-in stereo speakers, all within a laptop that should make a name for itself, thanks to the futuristic design.
